Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson. It is the eighth film in the Star Wars saga, following Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac.
Star Wars was not always part of my blood and soul, I only saw the original Trilogy 6 years back. I saw the prequels as a kid, hated them and moved to Star Trek, you can call me a Trekkie if you like. Things have changed now, I like both the franchises equally. Although we get more Star Wars content in a calendar year so I more towards the light side of the force these days.
The Force Awakens was the first Star Wars movie I saw in theaters and I loved it. I went to watch it multiple times and no regrets. I want to say the same about The Last Jedi but I can not, the movie is terribly paced, poorly edited and filled with unnecessary humor and has storylines nobody cares about. Several sequences are there just to give all the characters something to do. I mean you could have kept Finn on the sidelines and I would have complained less.
Writing this is actually making me angry cause I got disappointed not by Lucas Studios but by Rian Johnson who made Looper and that was an amazing movie. Even though I have positive stuff to say but I am gonna cut this short cause I can’t overlook the negatives I saw.
